Nonprofit Analytics cited as major “charity evaluator” in RELEVANT Magazine

Just days before Nonprofit Analytics turns 1 year old, we have been recognized as one of the 8 major online charity evaluation and accountability organizations. RELEVANT Magazine published an article “Where Do Your Donations Go?” and listed Nonprofit Analytics alongside Guidestar and GiveWell. Admittedly, the author chose to highlight and interview Charity Navigator and ECFA leaders. But the citation in a 3rd party publication is a step in the right direction for what we believe is the best all-around charity evaluation platform available .

Author Christine Jeske described charity evaluator organizations in the following manner: “Evaluator organizations provide a service to donors wanting to sort through the details behind heart-gripping websites. They aim not only to help donors make informed choices but also to improve the overall quality of charity work by motivating nonprofits toward greater financial sustainability and accountability. Accountability protects and benefits all the stakeholders of nonprofits, particularly their beneficiaries, who are often the least able to speak up and demand accountability.”  Jeske pointed out the weaknesses of charity evaluation platforms that rely on old “tax forms” or measure charities against vague criteria like “unexplained odd aspects of a ministry.”  She cautioned donors against using “DONATE” buttons on evaluator websites due to the percentage they skim off the donation.  She also warned about “universal” standards behind rating and accreditation processes.  Impressively, Nonprofit Analytics was one of the few evaluator organizations to exhibit none of those weaknesses.

Nonprofit Analytics has a long way to go.  In its 2nd year, we will continue to add nonprofit Analytical Overviews that users request to be in our easy-to-search database.  We will continue to demonstrate Nonprofit Analytics’s superior value and methodology compared to all other online charity evaluators. We will add new features and open up the service to more subscribers with donor advised funds.  The philanthropic advisory service Excellence in Giving will continue to use the platform as step one in its evaluation process for family foundations across the country.  We have a lot of work to do, but we are glad to celebrate our first breakthrough in the public’s discussion about charity evaluation resources.

THE UGANDA WOMEN'S POWER INITIATIVE (TUWOPI) TUWOPI was founded in 2015 by a group of university students consisting of 5 students three among them were young women and two gentlemen in Kampala, Uganda. We realised the importance of women in society and their social, economic and political potential, and decided to found TUWOPI purposely to defend women's rights, power and freedoms. Of importance the organization was formed to fight for women's power and rights and to respond to rural women poverty and their economic empowerment in the families and households. More also to counteract the rampant domestic violence and abuse against women in Ugandan communities. Our salient aim is to enhance the status of women from the political, social-cultural and economic marginalisation of women in the Ugandan society and to support their personal development in health, and Education as well as promoting their freedoms. The organization has a special concern in the plight of women and youths who are susceptible to vulnerability, psychologically, physical, socially and economically. TUWOPI VISION A society free from violence, torture, inequality and all forms of injustices but recognises the needs and rights of the women and youths.. TUWOPI MISSION: Empowering women and youths to advocate against violence through human rights education, information sharing, strengthening capacities and visibility. Objectives - - - - Will give details about them. We are looking for development partners who can work together with us in fulfilling our mission, vision and objectives. You can share this information to the respective agencies and organizations who can partner with us. We are interested to host you in our country so that we can share more of our plans with you. The bible emphasises justice for all which is not limited to women emancipation because women were created in the same image as men hence we advocate for women rights. We therefore welcome your technical advice, policy wise and everything that needs to be put in place. As I'm speaking, we are working on our website but we still encounter few challenges which we believe the Lord shall sort out through the efforts of our partners. We implore you to recognise us as right people who exist in Kampala Uganda and therefore we have good intentions towards our partners. We do everything through Christ who strengthens us. May God bless every hand that shall arise to support our Democratic and biblical efforts. God bless you so much as we look forward to hear from you for any questions or inquiries.
